Job Title: Sporting & Challenges Fundraiser (Charity Sector)

Location: Based at Head Office in Abingdon, Oxford 

Hours: 35 Hrs (excluding lunch hour) per week (9am- 5pm)

Main purpose of job: This role is responsible for planning, developing, marketing and delivery of a number of key fundraising events within the sporting and challenge events programme.  To be the first point of contact for enquiries and effectively manage the whole journey of our fundraisers.  Develop & grow the sporting & challenges calendar of events & assist the Special Events Organiser with the running of events.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for the administration of events within the Event Programme
  • Supporter contact and relationship management- take them through the supporter journey from initial contact right through to TQ and retention
  • Monitor and compile reports on participant and financial information to key events
  • Develop the events calendar removing & adding events to fall in line with Head of Fundraisings' plans
  • Assisting with project planning and marketing 
  • Assisting the Special Events Organiser in developing the marketing material in house using adobe packages for S&C & Special Events
  • Attend the events, working outside normal hours at weekends and evenings when required & assisting in the set up and break down of event equipment which requires manual handling skills
  • Help to build and manage teams of volunteers where necessary
  • Basic understanding and use of external event management systems
  • Administering new fundraising pages from sites such as Just Giving and Virgin Money Giving, as well as monitoring other online sites
  • Monitor the charity's presence on all external websites and build relationships with charity partners
  • Confident with face to face PR & talking to local businesses to promote our Special Events & Sporting & Challenges events
