Job description

Paterson Recruitment are recruiting an Procurement Assistant to work within a well establish Banbury company.

As the Procurement Assistant you will be reporting to the Procurement Manager regarding purchases, deliveries and verifying current inventory.  Excellent spoken and written English are required along with the ability to prioritise your workload. 


Procurement Assistant role:

  • Monitor weekly usage and update future forecast stock requirements accordingly
  • Work within Open-to-buy budgets, prioritising key product lines
  • Ensuring orders for shipping containers are utilised to full capacity
  • Monitoring and updating supplier lead times and actively reporting on poor supplier performance
  • Supervising / mentoring other team members
  • Review out-of-stock products and improve processes to reduce these
  • Work with the head of Buying on new product introductions and proactively plan exit strategies for discontinued products


Procurement Assistant Experience Required:

  • Good telephone and email communication
  • Proactive and well organised
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous experience of purchasing, ideally in the tile and/or bathroom industry
  • Leadership/supervisor skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel skills desirable)


Salary is dependant on experience
